What to eat...

We need to be eating cleaner, lots of meat, vegetables, some fruit, nuts, seeds, some starch and NO sugar.
We should be eating oatmeal 3-5 times a week. Salmon once a week or tuna 3x a week.
Avocados, macadamia nuts and organic peanut butter are excellent sources of monounsaturated fats. We need to eat fat to burn fat. Fat is also the key building block for cell production. Without fat our insulin levels will raise and take us out of the zone. If we are not in the 'Zone' we (most Americans) become ill.

Dude, Jason,
What happened to the "myth about carb loading"? I've been waiting for it for 2 posts now?

Jason said...

Yeah, I still have it coming. I have had some other 'things' diverting me from devoting time to it.
How did you do with "Nicole"

Are you still following the zone?
And did you try those pancakes yet?

Why so much oatmeal? What does that do for you?

Jason - for example - my favorite breakfast is:

2 egg whites, 1 piece of ham and 1 piece of swiss cheese on a small soft round tortilla with a piece of fruit.

I'm looking to zone 3 blocks

I got 7 rounds on Nicole with 19, 14, 13, 12, 10, 11, & 11 pull-ups. There were no (+)'s to be handed out that day.

I've been doing zone as much as possible (mostly within the first 5 days after I go grocery shopping), but after that I tend to resort to pasta and chicken or tuna for dinners & lunches. Sometimes a few sandwiches, which is all 'bad carbs' & too much of them. For some reason I'm always able to zone breakfast though - always the same thing - 1 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup yogurt, 2 eggs, 1 oz cheese, glass of milk, & peanut butter. I think it is because I buy eggs and oatmeal by the ton.

Haven't tried the pancakes yet, I'm going shopping tonight so hopefully tomorrow morning.

Dean, I am not sure about all my numbers for Nicole, but I got a total of 121 pull-ups in 6 rounds and Dave Hanson did 122 in 5 rounds.

You can also zone the chicken and pasta.

Jason, I made the pancakes this morning, but I didn't have any syrup. They were pretty dry and took a while to eat. Other than that they tasted like regular pancakes. I might try them one more time, but they took too long to make and eat compared to my usual zone breakfast.

Yeah as far as taking to long to eat, sometimes its nice to 'enjoy' breakfast. I like to put butter on them if I do not have any syrup. Peanut butter too. Anyhow, did you try to make the re-vised pancakes with oil in them?
